Detroit’s best-kept secret: four men from the Metro area who pretend to be The Beatles. But instead of using air guitars in their garage, they are playing for Beatle fans across the country. These four performers are “Beatle” veterans, with ties ranging from first-place honors at national Beatle-tribute band competitions, to performances at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C. The Beat Club’s show is virtually a mirror image of a Beatles concert, circa 1966, sans the screaming girls! The band strives for authenticity, from vintage instruments and amps to Cuban-heeled boots, mop top hair, and even tailor-made suits like the lads from Liverpool themselves.
